We really wanted a low maintenance property
Convenience and being close to family were at the top of the ‘house move must have’ check list for Keith and Vanessa Bishop when they made the decision to buy at Tilia Homes’ Snowdon Grange development, in Chard.
The retired couple wanted a bright and spacious canvas to continue this exciting chapter in their lives and looked no further than the four-bedroom Rutherford.
“We were unsure whether to make the move with the property market being the way it is at the moment, but we really wanted a low maintenance property that wasn’t going to cause us any headaches in our later years,” explain Keith and Vanessa.
“When we were first made aware of the Part Exchange initiative it took away all the uncertainty for us.
“Tilia Homes organised independent valuations of our old house, made us an offer, we accepted, and we were then able to proceed with buying our new home. It made the whole process so much quicker and simpler than if we had sold through an estate agent and got caught up in a lengthy chain.”
“We were impressed not only with the location of Snowdon Grange and its proximity to facilities and shops, but also the attention to detail that had been paid to the development and houses themselves.
“The size of the driveways is spacious – some enough for two cars, which frees up the streets and roads, and there is even a play area for the children, both who live here on the development and indeed visitors, like our grandchildren, can enjoy. This isn’t just a one-size-fits-all development, there’s a house for every buyer.”
The Rutherford is a spacious four-bedroom home that makes for the perfect forever home.
The house blends a traditional separate living room and an open plan kitchen and breakfast area that forms the heart of the home and perfect for entertaining family and friends or a place to curl up and enjoy your favourite book. A dining room and study complete the downstairs.
Upstairs, the main bedroom features a stylish en-suite with a further three spacious bedrooms and family bathroom. Keith and Vanessa also enjoy a double garage.
“We’re thrilled with our home – everything is brand-new, which means everything should be hassle free for us in later life!”
Locals to the area, Keith and Vanessa even had the opportunity to visit and view their plot when it was in the build stages, something that made the move extra special as they were able to see the progress right before their eyes.
The couple’s advice for anyone looking to buy a new-build home is to always study the site layout to make sure the plot is getting enough sunlight in it and the gardens are nice and spacious.
“We also recommend speaking frequently with the site and sales team – they’re very helpful and always willing to answer any queries or questions you may have!”
