Hardingstone pupil designs new site safety sign for Tilia Homes
A pupil at Hardingstone Academy has won a ‘design a sign’ competition and had his winning poster made into a sign which has been proudly displayed at Tilia Homes.
The competition came after Tilia’s Safety Health and Environmental Manager, Steve Garrington, visited the school to talk about building site safety ahead of the summer holidays. Following the visit, several pupils were then invited to visit Landimore Park to bring their interactive lesson to life.
The winning design came from 10 year old pupil Egor Zavoroyski for his bright and colourful design. Alongside having his picture turned into a site safety sign, Egor was presented with an Amazon Kindle Fire tablet by the team at Tilia Homes.
Steve Garrington commented: “We received so many fantastic entries to our site safety poster challenge, it was incredibly difficult to pick, however we really liked Egor’s clear design which demonstrated that he really took on board everything we talked about during my visit to Hardingstone Academy. It was a pleasure to take some of the pupils around the development and highlight how busy live construction sites can be. I really hope Egor enjoys his prize during the summer holidays.”
Tilia Homes is creating a brand new community of 750 private and affordable homes set amongst extensive public open space at Landimore Park. Construction work is now underway with the first homes set to be released for sale this month.
